The simplicity of being on the road is a real joy and rids me of many of life’s distractions. Where i’m sleeping, what i’m eating and do I have enough power for the fridge and creative tools – is pretty much as complex as it gets.
Vanlife is also a great catalyst to head off on personal projects, that then inspires me to create different imagery for commercial clients. There is also the ability to remotely work and travel with adventure seeking clients for days or weeks at a time. I love the freedom. I love how being on the road motivates me to run more- adventure more- explore more.
Over the Summer of 2016 I travelled around the South Island for 2 months on a personal running adventure with my Family joining me for nearly half of that- and I was hooked. I’m writing this blog post after being on the road for more than a week from the base of Mount Cook. What a time to be alive.
The simple act of making coffee every morning out in nature with that smell of freshly ground beans – spending time with my family outside- rain falling on the roof – that golden light waking me up – meeting like minded vanlifers – dark starry nights – and the many moments where i’m offline and forced to unplug.
These are a few simple things I cherish about #vanlife and i’ve put together a gallery to celebrate this joy over here.
