A personal brand and project called Good People Run was a major part of my life since 2014. The goals were to celebrate modern running life and culture through art and photography. It did exactly that.
I published my first zine, made my first range of apparel, spoke at several events about my love for running and photography, met some amazing people, made some life long friends, curated an exhibition, and provided a free platform for others share their own running stories. It was a buzz and I re-connected with a scene that I love- while enabling others to do the same. Good times.
At the time I had no creative outlet for my running imagery and narrative so on a personal level GPR filled that void. Fast forward 4 years- I just don’t have the passion, time or energy to run a project of that scope anymore, so now is a great time to wrap it up. I attempted a ‘reboot’ of the project recently, but found that i’m ‘doubling up’ my content across multiple websites, and the message and goal of GPR is now lost.
With this site now in full swing- it’s a better place to share my running and adventure photography alongside my other project driven work- so GPR will live on. Moving forward my energy outside of family and friends, is now better spent on learning, travel and photography/ exhibitions. Yes i’m a tad disappointed that my future will be ‘GPR-less’- but this is the real point of why change is good- projects make us blinkered and creatively formulaic over time- and I want to explore other mediums free of constraint.
Thanks everyone for the support over the years. Here are some images to celebrate the Good People Run project- and all the galleries from the project over here… and growing. Those flamingos tho… 😉
